Prosecco Winery in Miane
Building on the ridge of Pedemontana
Situated in the area of Combai, in the town of Miane, a hillside landscape famous for its Prosecco, this medium-sized winery decided to reorganise how it made its wine. We were commissioned to design a new winery as an enlargement of an existing structure.
The composition of the new building is inspired by the forms of the hilly landscape: we designed surfaces in corten steel that resemble extensions of the sloping site and reinforce its contours. Veils in rusted steel containing the existing building and its addition host the spaces required by the large steel vats, a storage area, warehouse space, a path for visitors and a tasting area.
The winery resembles a steel reconstruction of the ridge of the hill that had been eliminated.
