Citroen Peugeot car dealership in Trento
Cars on show between moving cars
The site is a strategic point in the periphery of Trento, at the intersection of the principal routes for the Brennero, Verona, Lake Garda and Venice. An industrial warehouse like so many others, anonymous and banal, like so much of the post-war construction.
An industrial construction to be enlarged and reutilised: an increasingly common theme, with vast creative potentialities.
The project for the new dealership pursues a twofold objective. The first is that of expanding the existing structure to consent to the coexistence between two different automotive brands, allowing each to maintain its own identity. Citroen to the north, Peugeot to the south. In the middle is the original building, converted into storage and a garage. The second objective was to render the new building visible and attractive; working with the three elevations that attract the attention of drivers travelling along the viaduct and highways surrounding the building.
For the exterior we designed transparent and luminescent façades containing platforms for displaying the latest models, the signature vehicles. The elevations become true display cases.
Inside the Citroen dealership is an “ironic” fragment of the Italian landscape of motorways: a “motorway viaduct” touching a three-storey “palazzina” (office building). Inside and outside there are vehicles to be sold and to be seen and also those in movement.
