New headquarters of the South Tyrolean People’s Ban
The new headquarters of the Banca Popolare di Bolzano, near the historic center and the railway station. A narrow and long lot, compressed but interesting, bordered on one side by the banks of the river Isarco and on the opposite side by Via del Macello, an important automotive artery.
The building develops freely around a common and pedestrian area, which encourages the meeting between people and acts as a pedestrian filter before entering inside.
The basement houses the vault and the spaces that require privacy and security, while the three upper floors, above ground, overlooking the courtyard house the offices that with a continuous glazing open to the surrounding mountain landscape.
