Cinema, theatre and exhibition halls in Azerbaijan
The city of Baku is characterised by regular rectangular lots that repeat with constant measures, the “cut” corners create large intersections that have a fundamental value in the conformation of the city. The lot on the project is located in the centre of the city, which with the construction of the cultural centre will become a significant urban space, a place for the community also helped by the activity and the movement of the streets that flank it.
The facade of the new cultural centre will establish a direct contact with the green area and the intersection. It will be tilted and configured to include some outdoor areas, so the main hall of the centre will be introduced through the green spaces outside.
The connection between the parts is a characteristic element of the project: those outside can see what is inside, the digital images and the information projected into the façade, on the walls are a preview of events, a link to the cultural centre and the screening rooms.
