General Town Plan, Municipality of Assisi

Alberto Cecchetto is in charge of drafting the new Town Plan, to be drawn up together with the Municipal Technical Office.

A city already known in post-war urban planning, for the plan drawn up by Prof. Giovanni Astengo, founder of the university course of Urban Planning at the IUAV in Venice.

The city has changed radically since the post-war period, especially in the plain and hilly slopes that surround the historic center and the religious complex founded by Saint Francis.

Alberto Cecchetto proposes a new plan, able to combine a twofold attitude: on the one hand a simple, understandable and proactive regulation for the parts already built, on the other hand, in-depth analysis of buildings and new housing models for urban areas that can still play an important role in the restoration of newly formed fabrics.

With particular attention to the characters and morphology of the surrounding hilly landscape.
